History of The Wiendels Group

For the very beginning of The Wiendels Group, we have to go back to February 2, 1980. Wim Wiendels senior wanted to stand on his own two feet as a craftsman and deboner in the meat industry. He took his passion for meat to his own company. He cleverly used his industry knowledge to link professionals and employers. In the early years, Wim did not complain about a lack of challenges. “It was a tough world…. But the market conditions were good. All the companies in our industry were doing well. The meat industry was a booming market. But chaotic it often was, with ad hoc situations. Customers often called me late at night, asking if I could send five or ten men the next morning. They would let me take care of that,” says Wim senior. In 1995 Gerard Wiendels joined his brother’s company. Together they saw the market change. Margins came under pressure, so companies increasingly used the services of flexible migrant workers instead of permanent Dutch personnel. The Wiendels Group also expanded its activities and became active in (fire) security, logistics and construction, among others. Our company grew from a boning company to a professional, (inter)nationally operating group of companies, with a permanent and flexible staff and an impressive fleet of its own vehicles. Our company still faced some crises, such as the foot and mouth crisis and the swine fever crisis. But over the years we had gathered enough experience and expertise to turn this around and come out of it well. And to grow further, with the new generation on board. Since 2012, Elle Wiendels has strengthened the salary and personnel administration. And five years later Wim Wiendels junior joined the company, as junior manager. Decades of experience, combined with the fresh energy of young talent makes our group even stronger.
